While browsing del.icio.us the other day I came across a new site called Clickpass that provides you with an OpenID account. There have been a number of OpenID providers in the past, but something seemed different about Clickpass. For a while I thought OpenID was set to go the way of the foaf... a great idea that fails to take hold. Now that Yahoo has announced support for OpenID I figured I would give OpenID another look via Clickpass:

The first thing I noticed about Clickpass was the clean web 2.0 style. I was even more grateful when I was presented with the simple login requiring only an email address and password. No email confirmation was required, which is always greatly appreciated as I hate having to login to email just to try out a new site. In fact the ability to do away with this necessity is one of the many appealing features of OpenID.
Once I was logged on to my Clickpass account, it was easy to add my y combinator account. It was just as easy, actually easier, to sign up for a new site. In my case I chose to sign up for Disqus... one of four OpenID enabled sites presented to the user.
Now that OpenID is finally taking hold I am looking forward to integrating it into Drupal. With my handy Clickpass I have no reason not to test the Drupal OpenID module. Look for my findings in future blog posts under the drupal tag.
